2010 Franchise Car Owner Agreement

In 2010 the Super Modified Racing Association will offer car owners guaranteed minimum payoffs if they agree to the following terms.

1)     The car owner must guarantee to attend all of the SMRA point shows. You may however, miss up to two (2) shows and still retain your contract. On double-header weekends you must race in the first show. If for a mechanical reason you can’t race in the second show, you will not be penalized. The following weekends apply: July 1 & 3 and any additional double-header weekends that may be added.

2)     The car owner must submit an entry fee of $500.00 per car, received by March 1, 2010, which will pay your entry fee for the entire season.

3)     To be a Franchise owner, we are asking for a serious commitment to SMRA. Any owner who misses an SMRA event cannot race in another supermodified event the weekend that conflicts with a regularly scheduled SMRA event and remain a Franchise owner.

If you miss one (1) show, SMRA will hold any bonus money accumulated for the remaining shows. SMRA will pay all bonus money owed at the last regularly scheduled show of 2010 season.

A car owner must inform Jim Belfiore, SMRA president, at (702) 644-7844, or Rhonda Costa, SMRA secretary, at (775) 720-4333 one week prior to an event that they are planning to miss. If a owner does not inform either party, they will be penalized one feature bonus money per infraction up to two shows. SMRA needs this information to promote car count.

4)     If a car misses more than two (2) SMRA events, any bonus money paid will be deducted from any earnings they are owed in future SMRA events or point funds. A car owner will be responsible to pay SMRA any excess bonus money not earned.

5)     The minimum guaranteed payoffs will be as follows; if you qualify for the feature, you will be guaranteed a minimum of $1,000.00 to start that feature event. If you do not qualify for the feature, you will receive tow money based on the amount of travel. The tow money will be based on three increments of $200.00, $400.00 and $600.00, based on travel.

All minimums are against winnings. For example, if the published purse structure posts a $750.00 payoff for the position you finished, you will receive $750.00. You then receive a check in the mail from SMRA for $250.00.

The maximum bonus money will be limited to $2500.00 per racecar in 2010.

6)     The below form will be e-mailed to Rhonda Costa, 1976 Marian Ave, Carson City, NV 89706. Please send a nonrefundable deposit. This deposit, ($250), is one-half of the franchise fee ($500). If you cancel the franchise, this deposit will not be returned.
