SMRA Announces 2009 Schedule and Officers

The Supermodified Racing Association announced its 2009 season schedule and Association Officers at a recent meeting in Carson City, Nevada. The SMRA will sanction seven events in California at Madera Speedway and Shasta Speedway. There will be two events in Nevada, both at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Bullring. Idaho will host one race at Meridian Speedway and Utah will host one race at Rocky Mountain Raceways. There is a possibility of one or two additional dates being added at a later date. The current schedule of confirmed events is listed below.

 

At the same meeting, Jim Birges of Birges Racing was named President of SMRA, Wayne Malmstrom of Out Front Racing was named Treasurer, and Rhonda Costa with S&S Motorsports was named Secretary. A Vice President will be named at a later date. Gerald Laurie was named Race Director for the 2009 season. John Davidson was named Webmaster for SMRA.

SMRA Meeting set for Jan. 17th.

There will be a meeting of SMRA team members, drivers, and crew at the residence of; Dale Lamborn, 4349 Stampede Dr., Carson City, NV. Home phone: 775-883-3909. The meeting is set for January 17th, 2009 at 3:00 p.m.

 

This meeting will be limited to 3 people per registered car. Please email this address as soon as possible to have your name added to the email list. Please e-mail us at smraracing@yahoo.com . We encourage you to contact each other about this and send in your contact information as well as your suggestions on items to be covered at the meeting.

Troy Regier Wins the Battle and the War

The Supermodified Racing Association brought their Wild, Wooly, Winged Roadsters to The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday night. When the rain clouds had passed and the features were completed, Troy Regier had taken an impressive win in the fifty lap main event, and, in so doing, grabbed the season points championship by a mere five points over Jeff Russell.
